Aqaba Digital Hub launches Jordan’s first AI computing platform
The Aqaba Digital Hub on Tuesday launched “Klstrai”, Jordan’s first AI computing platform, enabling government entities, private sector companies, startups and developers to access localised AI services from within the Kingdom.
Aqaba Digital Hub CEO Eyad Abu Khorma said that the platform will support the development of Jordan’s AI sector by providing organisations with domestic infrastructure to build and operate AI solutions while maintaining greater control over their data, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
“Through this platform, we look forward to supporting local innovation and reinforcing Jordan’s status as a regional hub for artificial intelligence services and advanced computing,” Abu Khorma said.
He added that the platform enables institutions to use local processing facilities tailored to their operational needs without the capital costs associated with purchasing equipment or building and operating dedicated infrastructure.
The platform offers options for organisations at different stages of AI adoption, ranging from on-demand processing to full-scale development and integration.
Its applications include data analytics, document processing, process automation, digital assistants and customer support tools, he said.
The hub said the platform will also support digital and data sovereignty by enabling institutions to store and process data domestically.
The launch comes amid growing demand for high-performance computing driven by the expanding use of AI applications, with the hub saying local capabilities can help Jordan deploy AI solutions domestically, support government and economic sectors and reduce reliance on foreign infrastructure.
The initiative is part of the hub’s efforts to expand Jordan’s digital infrastructure and connectivity to global telecommunications networks, while supporting the Kingdom’s capacity to host advanced applications and meet growing regional demand.
