Jordan’s eFootball team qualifies for FIFAe World Cup finals in Riyadh

The Jordanian national eFootball team has secured its place in the FIFAe World Cup finals, set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from December 10 to 13.

The team’s qualification came after an impressive performance in the group stages, where they finished at the top with 30 points, winning 10 out of 12 matches, Al Rai Arabic daily reported.

They subsequently triumphed over Uzbekistan in the semifinals and defeated Lebanon in the final, cementing their position among the world’s top eFootball teams.

This achievement highlights the Jordan Esports Federation’s (JEF) commitment to advancing the sport and expanding its global reach, Al Rai said, citing a JEF statement.

By targeting new segments of football enthusiasts, the federation aims to capitalise on the growing commercial and marketing opportunities in the eSports sector.

The Jordan Football Association has officially launched the eFootball team in collaboration with JEF.

The team has already participated in prominent competitions, such as the inaugural e-Asia Cup, held alongside the 2023 AFC Asian Cup in Doha, as well as the 2024 West Asia Championship in Oman.
