Minister of Government Communication Mohammad Momani on Monday reaffirmed the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to delivering humanitarian aid into Gaza, distancing its relief efforts from political narratives and reiterating support for the Palestinian cause.
Momani, who is also the government spokesperson, stressed that Jordan’s priority remains ensuring aid reaches civilians in the besieged enclave, “away from political entanglements and voices of doubt”.
Momani said Jordan’s political, diplomatic and humanitarian efforts, led by His Majesty King Abdullah, are ongoing, with a central objective of securing a ceasefire and ensuring the sustained delivery of aid, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
“There is a growing need for assistance. What is being delivered is simply not enough,” he said, warning against politicising humanitarian operations or diverting them from their core relief mission.
The minister also highlighted that Jordan carried out three airdrops over Gaza on Sunday as part of its relief campaign, while stressing that airdrops cannot substitute land convoys, which transport the majority of aid.
Over recent days, Jordan has dispatched six land convoys to Gaza, including the latest delivery of 60 trucks. Despite logistical and political obstacles imposed by Israeli occupation forces, Jordan will continue its aid operations, Momani affirmed.
He noted that Jordan would maintain a dual strategy of airdrops and land shipments to circumvent any restrictions and ensure aid reaches those in need.
“Jordan’s position remains among the closest to the people of Gaza,” he said, reiterating that the Kingdom’s political and diplomatic efforts to end the Israeli aggression remain firm.
Momani also reiterated Jordan’s rejection of any attempt to alter the legal status of the Palestinian territories or impose Israeli sovereignty over the occupied West Bank, stressing such actions constitute clear violations of international law.
“Jordan’s position has not changed. We will continue to stand by the Palestinian people, support their just cause, and work to end the war and alleviate their suffering,” he said.
