HRH Prince El Hassan Bin Talal, Chairman of the Arab Thought Forum, on Tuesday visited the Military Oncology Centre of the Royal Medical Services (RMS), where he was received by Director-General of the Royal Medical Services, Brig. Gen. Sahil Hamouri.
Prince El Hassan listened to a briefing by the centre’s Director, Brig. Gen. Ahmad Bawaneh, on the medical services provided to beneficiaries from the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army (JAF), security agencies, and civilians, including cancer patients, using the latest medical techniques and technologies to alleviate their suffering, complementing other institutions that serve cancer patients, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Hamouri said, “Our top priority is developing the medical system in our beloved country in line with the latest global medical advancements, and introducing modern equipment to enhance the quality of care provided to patients and visitors.” He also emphasised the adoption of advanced treatment methods for blood diseases, continued awareness campaigns, and strengthened cooperation between medical sectors.
Prince El Hassan toured the various departments and facilities of the centre, expressing his pride and appreciation for the dedication of RMS staff in providing medical care within Jordan and to Palestinian brothers in Gaza and the West Bank.
He highlighted the importance of developing a comprehensive and reliable medical knowledge database, stressing that health institutions cannot grow without solidarity and integration, and underlining the need for concerted efforts to establish an effective medical body that ensures cooperation and optimal services for citizens under a unified framework.
The visit was attended by the Minister of Health, the President of the University of Jordan, the Inspector General of the JAF, and several representatives from the public and private medical sectors.
