Scaling Investments and Resources for a Digital Iraq
Recognizing Iraq’s growing need for intelligent technologies, SAP is increasing its investments to help businesses and government institutions harness the power of cloud computing, data analytics, and artificial intelligence. By deploying solutions such as SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Iraqi organizations can enhance operational efficiency, strengthen governance, and drive sustainable economic growth.
“As Iraq accelerates its digital transformation, SAP is committed to playing a key role in supporting the country’s long-term vision for economic growth and technological advancement,” said Saquib Ahmed, Managing Director of SAP in Iraq. “With the opening of our new office, we are taking a significant step in deepening our engagement with Iraqi customers, ensuring that we are not just providing technology but also working side by side with them to create value, enhance efficiencies, and drive sustainable progress. Developing Iraq’s Future Workforce Through Digital Skills Programs
As part of its long-term vision for Iraq, SAP is investing in upskilling young professionals and closing the digital skills gap:
- SAP Young Professionals Program (YPP). This free initiative equips recent university graduates in Iraq with SAP certifications, hands-on training in cloud technologies and intelligent enterprise solutions, and career readiness skills. The program enhances employability by connecting graduates with hiring companies in the SAP ecosystem, while also developing essential soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.
- SAP Engineering Academy in the United States. Through close collaboration with Iraqi customers, SAP has enabled dozens of Iraqi students to gain advanced technology and leadership training at the SAP Engineering Academy. Participants are exposed to cutting-edge innovations shaping global industries, equipping them with critical leadership skills and hands-on training in SAP’s most advanced software solutions, ensuring they are well-prepared to drive the country’s digital transformation.
- SAP Learning Hub and SAP Student Zone. In a further effort to build Iraq’s technology talent, SAP has made its SAP Learning Hub available free of charge for all Iraqis, granting them access to a vast array of on-demand learning resources that cover SAP technologies, products, and business processes. Additionally, the SAP Student Zone is being leveraged by two Iraqi universities—University of Shatt Al-Arab and Southern Technical University—to provide students with direct exposure to SAP’s digital training curricula, ensuring they develop in-demand skills that align with the needs of a modern, innovation-driven economy.
